Riverview is the preeminent Golf and Country Club in Redding. With an active golf and social schedule this member owned club is a staple in Redding. Some say it began in this location in 1947 which explains its terrific location, views and Sacramento River frontage. The Clubhouse, Practice Area and #1 hole tee-box all are looking over the Sacramento River and Mt Bally beyond, truly a wonderful view! The swimming pool and Tennis courts are the icing on the cake.
Golf: On this end of the equation you need to be careful of the tee shot on #1 and not be distracted by the view, it is beautiful. Left lies the river, if you bail out right the trees will devour your shot making for an already long par five even longer. Overall it is traditional layout with parallel fairways in many instances... you can see much more below. The fairways are Bermuda, the greens are Bent and numerous sand bunkers throughout the golf course.
Nearby are a variety of neighborhoods yet with the club's roots planted years ago there are no homes directly on the golf course.

#1 tee: There is not a more dramatic tee shot in the Redding area. A long par 5 with the Sacramento River being played as out of bounds.
#1: This green like many on the course is pretty darn big with subtle breaks.
#2: A slight fade off the tee leaves a nice approach shot remaining, out of bounds to the left.
#3 Tee is adjacent to the Sacramento River.
#4 the last of the holes paralleling the river.
#5 tee: A slight dogleg left.
#6 tee like many other holes has trees on both sides. The trees are large yet spaced apart and often you can hit between them when needed.
#7 green as you approach it.
#9 tee: A dogleg left par 5 that requires the right handed player to hit a strong draw to get around the corner. Reachable in two by only the longest hitters.
The snack shack is at the turn and is also accesible beteen the 15th & 16th holes.
#12 Tee: A carefully placed tee shot will help the second towards the green that is protected by water and a large oak tree.
#12 green has water to the left and back with a large oak onthe right..
#17: A beautiful par 3 protected by a pond in the front and on the right.
#18 tee: Out of bounds looms close on the left side with a sloping fairway and large trees on the left. Hit left of the trees and you're in a water hazard.
#18 green like many other is large and protected by bunkers on both sides.
#14, a very narrow fairway off the tee makes this a sometimes difficult par 5.
#14 opens up after the drive to a large two tiered green.
#16: Another tight driving hole, yet with a well placed ball donw the left side a birdie can be had.
